Employees of Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital may contribute to the Foundation through the annual Employee Giving Campaign. As we work together to meet the changing healthcare needs of our community, we ask for employee support of the annual fund which helps us to ensure that we can be responsive to the ongoing and immediate needs of our patients.
Currently, the Employee Giving Campaign Committee has set a goal of $40,000 in new gifts to be applied to the Patient Needs Scholarship Fund**. This fund was developed in 1999 to ease the financial burden of patients in need of medical rehabilitation services, yet who may not have adequate financial resources or insurance coverage.
The Patient Needs Scholarship program, administered through our social work department, uses an objective screening process to determine a patient's eligibility. Patients within all hospital programs and services qualify for consideration based on need. Disbursements from this fund are made in the form of scholarships to patients whose incomes qualify them for assistance. During 2008, the social work department distributed more than $40,000 in scholarships.
The employee giving committee is busy planning for special fund raising events to support this year's effort, and we are appealing to you, our employees, to make a personal gift to help us reach our goal. Your personal commitment will make this a success. Gifts at all levels will help!
